Dubbed �The International Neighborhood,� Bayview Foundation is a downtown section of Madision where residents enjoy wide range of affordable housing choices, particularly in townhouses and condos. Dozens of ethnic groups co-exist here, including people of Asian, Native American, white, Hispanic, and black backgrounds. In Bayview, 87 per cent of the heads of households were born outside the United States.

The community of Bayview Foundation, Inc was formed in 1966, when a group of Madisonians created the non-profit Foundation to offer affordable urban housing. In 1971 the Bayview Townhouses, which included an impressive 102 units, were completed by the Foundation. Bayview also saw the construction of its own community center in 1985, administered by the Foundation. The facilities are situated on the corner of Regent Street and West Washington Avenue, adjacent to the state capitol square.

Residents of Bayview Foundation real estate have access to a wide range of services and programs, including housing mini-grants, scholarships, cultural arts projects, and community planned festivals. Residents of this neighborhood lead the nation in local collaboration and inclusive development.
